TOWN COUNCILLOR INSPIRES COMMUNITY CHANGE

As Town Councillor, Elaine Addison represents the views of the people who live and work near her ward, gets involved with planning applications and deals with financial spend in her town. Elaine successfully campaigned to retain a children’s centre as well as a successful road safety campaign to reduce the speed of traffic to 20mph along unsafe roads. This will benefit the children in Elaine’s community who can feel safer on the roads whilst on their way to their saved centre.

A Scout Committee member, Elaine has also helped raise a whopping £80,000 for her local cricket club, which included pavilion refurbishment and better facilities inside the club

But the help doesn’t stop there! Elaine is involved with Dementia Friends Charity and during COVID-19 situation, Elaine’s role has included collecting shopping, prescriptions and helping with odd jobs around the home. Elaine also campaigned successfully locally for increased funding for her local NHS units, along with a cancellation of parking charges for our NHS workers.

Elaine has also created a safer environment for children in her hometown of Norwich.

Elaine tells us she is also part of a choir that performs in residential homes, but we are yet to hear her sing!
